The International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) was trying to make bodybuilding an Olympic sport from early 2000. This is did not happen till London Olympic 2012. Olympic recognition for bodybuilding remains controversial since some argue that bodybuilding is not a sport because bodybuilding necessarily involves the use of anabolic steroids, which are illegal in Olympic.
